Tatton enhance their AIM Portfolio service with Hubwise

Sep 11, 2020 11:38:28 AM

Tatton Investment Management Limited (Tatton) and Hubwise announce that the Tatton AIM Portfolio service is now exclusively available on the Hubwise investment platform.

The AIM Portfolio Service invests in a diversified range of BPR (Business Property Relief) qualifying AIM securities to access their growth potential with the expectation of achieving inheritance tax (IHT) relief after 2 years of being invested.*

Tatton made the decision to change the platform for the AIM Portfolio to reduce costs for underlying clients, and to enable a greater range of investment capabilities and so continue to provide a first-class service to financial advisers.

Many platforms struggle to enable investing into UK listed instruments such as AIM securities, cash equities, ETFs and investment trusts. This is not just down to a lack of relevant permissions and market memberships, but also because their underlying platform technology has not been designed to support the standard DVP settlement method associated with exchange-traded securities.

Hubwise are different. They own and control the modern technology underpinning their platform, which has been designed from the ground up to efficiently process complex instruments including AIM-listed securities. Together with Hubwise’s direct membership of the London Stock Exchange and the CREST securities depository, Tatton now benefit from a frictionless investment process to ensure its service satisfies the stringent demands of financial advisers.

Lothar Mentel, Chief Executive Officer of Tatton Investment Management, said “Hubwise understood our requirements for an on-platform AIM portfolio as part of our bespoke services and have created what we wanted. We are very happy that clients of advisers can now access all the potential of an AIM portfolio with the benefits of an effective and efficient platform solution.”

Angus Macdonald, Chief Executive Officer of Hubwise Securities Limited, added “ We have been enabling our platform customers with easy access to the AIM market since 2017 – some have constructed managed portfolios with up to 40 AIM-listed securities; some have implemented a more balanced approach combining AIM securities with ETFs and funds in the same portfolio. The AIM market offers the growth potential of smaller companies and supports an important tax planning service in our market and with the right partner, this investment option becomes significantly more accessible.”

Notes to Editors: *AIM stocks can be volatile, particularly during general stock market downturns, and carry a higher risk of company failure. Therefore, investing in AIM is mostly suitable for investors who have a long-term horizon for their investment, and are willing to accept the higher risks associated with investing in such companies.
